• To describe the broad frame work of risk reduction in transportation of hazardous chemicals
• Knowledge / information on various provisions of Central Motor Vehicles (CMV) rules, 1989 and other regulations
• To address the safety culture in community residing nearby the transport corridor
• Education to first responders like transport police, fire fighting men, etc. and involved in various provisions of emergency response action

Indicators of success will be viewed from the evaluation sheets of the training programme. It is also expected that the programme will help the participants in updating and reviewing the procedures for safe transportation of hazardous chemicals and will also help in emergency preparedness, response and planning.

• On successful completion of this training programme it is expected that the target groups should be able to:
• Understand the various provisions of Central Motor Vehicles (CMV) rules, 1989 and other relevant regulations
• Proper risk communication methodologies for transporters and regional transport authorities
• Less road accidents due to transportation of hazardous chemicals
• Better preparedness of local communities residing nearby transport corridors in case of any mishaps
