Rishi Kapoor Death
In 2018, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia and sought treatment in New York City. Following a year of successful treatment, he returned to India on September 26, 2019. Unfortunately, he faced health complications and was admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital on April 29, 2020, due to breathing difficulties. Regrettably, he passed away on April 30, 2020, at 8:45 AM IST due to a recurrence of leukemia. His final rites were held at Chandanwadi Crematorium, and his ashes were immersed in Banganga.

He appeared in the musical sequence of “Pyar Hua, Iqraar Hua Hai.” His debut role came in the 1970 film “Mera Naam Joker,” directed by his father, where he portrayed the young version of the lead character.
His first leading role came as an adult in the 1973 film “Bobby,” directed by his father, alongside Dimple Kapadia. The film became a major hit, earning him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. He continued with successful comedies like “Khel Khel Mein” (1975), “Rafoo Chakkar” (1975), “Amar Akbar Anthony” (1977), and “Hum Kisise Kum Naheen” (1977). Rishi Kapoor collaborated with Neetu Singh in “Zahreela Insaan” (1974) and went on to act in projects like “Kabhi Kabhie” (1976) and “Doosra Aadmi” (1976) before marrying her in 1980. He starred in notable films like “Karz” (1980), “Prem Rog” (1982), “Saagar” (1985), “Chandni” (1989), and “Henna” (1991), often working with prominent co-stars.
In the 2000s, he transitioned to character roles, appearing in films like “Hum Tum” (2004), “Fanaa” (2006), “Namastey London” (2007), “Love Aaj Kal” (2009), and “Agneepath” (2012). He won awards for his performances in “Do Dooni Chaar” (2010) and “Kapoor & Sons” (2016). Rishi Kapoor’s last film to be released during his lifetime was “The Body” (2019). He passed away on April 30, 2020, while a film he was working on, “Sharmaji Namkeen,” was still under production. The film was later completed by Paresh Rawal and released on Prime Video in March 2022.
