The Central Government is upgrading 1,753 schools in Uttar Pradesh under PM Shri (Prime Minister School for Rising India) initiative. Direct funding through DBT will be given to school principals, allowing them and school committees to decide on 40% of the funds’ usage. These schools will be environmentally friendly and follow green practices. Schools can apply online on the scheme’s official portal. The selection process involves three stages, and states or Union Territories must fully adopt the NEP, with the Center’s support to ensure quality education.
